Regarding Incorrect Payments of the “Child-Rearing Support Allowance in Response to Rising Prices” (Overpayments and Underpayments)
We have identified cases of incorrect payments in the FY2025 “Child-Rearing Support Allowance in Response to Rising Prices” (overpayments and underpayments) due to errors in data transfer related to the designation of transfer destinations. We sincerely apologize for the considerable inconvenience caused to the guardians affected.
Overview
In connection with the national subsidy program for the “Child-Rearing Support Allowance in Response to Rising Prices,” Onna Village made payments to eligible recipients on March 23, following the notice sent on February 20, 2026. During this process, it was discovered through inquiries from recipients that some payments were either overpaid or underpaid. The cause of the issue was traced to the creation of the recipient list based on the September-end transfer data (October 2025 Child Allowance: new system), with checks performed for the number of children and payment amounts. The error occurred during data transfer when consolidating information by financial institution for payment.
