Festivals
Feeling Okinawa Okinawans are jovial, high spirited, and love performing arts and festivities. Here in Onna Village, various events are organized throughout the year.
The Unna Festival is held every July. The purpose of the event is to promote unity among villagers, organizations, and businesses, and participants will be treated to a host of fun activities like a children's karaoke tournament, fish-catching game, musical performances by Okinawan artists, and fireworks exhibition. Onna Village’s regionalism is also utilized; its long, white beach sets an excellent stage for beach volleyball and soccer competitions. The biggest beach soccer tournament in Japan, “Beach Soccer in Okinawa,” is held here also.
“The Industry Festival,” showcasing Onna Village industries, is held every December in the community square. Products displayed and sold at the event include those from the agricultural, stock farm, fishery, and tourism-related sectors, with thousands of people visiting each year.
